Solomons Solidarity For West Papua Praised Gov’t

The Solomon Islands Solidarity for West Papua Group is calling on the other four MSG leaders to agree on the Solomon Islands statement to support West Papua into the MSG.
The Group’s Secretary, Lily Chekana says it is the time our Melanesian leaders open the door to West Papua and resort to diplomatic advancement than political division.
She says the statement made by the Government of Solomon Islands for West Papua as an observer in the MSG is a good start, adding, the supporters are thankful to the Prime Minister for hearing their plea in support for West Papua.
“This Solomon Islands solidarity with all the campaign activities that we are doing, we would like to thank our government for taking a very positive statement towards West Papua, though a lot of us don’t agree with an observer status, but I think in general with careful consideration coming as an observer is a good start and I’d like to thank the Solomon Islands Prime Minister for seeing the cry of Solomon Islanders in answering their cries.”
